"My Chelsea will be different" - Mauricio Pochettino unveils new Chelsea effective formation with two lethal finishers upfront

Chelsea appears to be making significant moves ahead of the summer transfer window, with their first potential signing already identified.

According to football.london, the club has agreed to bring in Mauricio Pochettino as their new head coach, and preparations for the summer transfer window are already in full swing.

Chelsea's primary targets under Pochettino's leadership include a new striker, central midfielder, and goalkeeper. The midfield issues have been accentuated by injury problems, while the lack of a prolific goal scorer was exposed in their recent 4-1 defeat to Manchester United.

In that match, Chelsea created several good chances but lacked a natural striker to convert them. The midfield balance is another area that needs to be addressed, with Enzo Fernandez often deployed in a deep-lying role despite his potential in the attacking third of the pitch.

To fill the central midfield position, Chelsea has identified potential options such as Moises Caicedo, Declan Rice, and Manuel Ugarte. All three players are likely to be available for transfer this summer, with Arsenal showing interest in Caicedo and Rice, and Paris Saint-Germain also pursuing Ugarte. PSG reportedly made a €60 million (£51 million) bid for Ugarte, meeting his release clause.

However, Chelsea has aggressively entered the race for the player and is prepared to pay the release clause while offering bonuses to Ruben Amorim's Sporting side. Additionally, it is reported that Ugarte himself prefers a move to the Premier League.

Chelsea scouts have closely observed Ugarte in action, and his recent performances have further convinced them of his suitability to partner Fernandez in midfield.

Despite the relatively lower release clause compared to other midfield targets, there is speculation that Chelsea may allow Ugarte to return to Sporting on loan after signing him. However, given the immediate need for his qualities at Stamford Bridge, this scenario appears highly unlikely.
